MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino singer garnered the highest number of online votes on "The Voice Israel," securing a spot in the singing competition's semifinals.
Ezra Liz Joy Ng recently paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial at the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv, according to a release from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The 17-year-old Filipina singer is the youngest semifinalist in the competition.
Ng is fully supported by the Filipino community in Israel as she has been performing in front of the community since she was a kid. She had previously performed in many of the embassy's activities.
“My friends encouraged me to join ‘The Voice Israel’,” Ng said.
Imperial commended Ng for making Filipinos in Israel proud and for sharing her talent. The ambassador called on the Filipino community to continue supporting her in taking home the title of "The Voice Israel" this year.
A Filipino had also won a television singing competition in Israel a few years ago.
