Caught on Camera: Man Punching 7 Year Old Boy in School Got Attention on Internet

Police in Washington, D.C. are currently investigating a man who was caught on a school surveillance footage punching a 7-year-old boy in a hallway within school premises.

The video obtained from KIPP DC Spring Academy shows a man walking along the hallway in the school and crossed path with a young boy. The man all of a sudden punched the boy and simply walked away.

The footage clearly showed the boy was on his knees writhing in pain while the man casually walked out of the scene.

Investigators said that the boy’s mother, Lena Mclean requested the footage from school authorities as evidence of the assault.

According to John, the boy in the tape, it was a parent of another child attending the same school who punched him.

“I was in the hallway, the day was on Wednesday, and then somebody punched me in my stomach. It made my stomach real painful,” he recalled to WJLA.

It is unclear why the man hurt the boy. Lena says she had had positive interaction with that particular parent in the past and is confused as to why he would punch her son.

“You watched my son on that ground and you didn’t do nothing … and all you could say to me is you was playing. You don’t bully a child, you don’t torment a child. I wouldn’t do that to you. I wouldn’t do that to none of your kids. I’ll feel much better when he is locked up,” she said.

Authorities are yet to arrest the man in question but Lena says she is pressing charges.

Meanwhile, the school administration released a letter to parents regarding the incident.

“The health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff remains our number one priority and we will continue to work closely with the police to ensure that students and staff are safe at school,” the school wrote in its statement.
