TRENDING: BEWARE: Ex-DILG Alunan Warns Public over New Modus Operandi in Carnapping

A new modus operandi is on trend right now. Carnappers tricked victims by stealing the car plate numbers and pretending they found it.

The new modus was revealed by former Department of Interior and Local Government Rafael Alunan III. He said it comes from his "reliable security sources."

According to Alunan, the carnappers were already surveilling the moves of the victims. When the time the victims park his/her car that's the time they steal the plate number.

After driving off, they will pretend they found it and you assume they give it back. Then, when the victim gets out of the car, then mission accomplished.

Alunan warned the public of this new modus operandi. He wanted the public to be aware and be vigilant everywhere.

Carnapping groups or syndicates have become more creative and bolder, mutating their nefarious activities from stealing parked cars and even stealing while the owners or their drivers are inside.

FYI FROM RELIABLE SECURITY SOURCES

Plate Number Robbery:

There is a new number plate hijacking trend. Hi-jackers follow you to a parking lot, after you leave your vehicle, they remove your number plate and wait. When u come back and drive off, they follow you. They then overtake you, displaying your number plate out of their window as if 4you just lost it and they want to give it back to you.

When you stop to get your number plate back, guns come out and they take the car. Maybe even take you and your car. It's a very well rehearsed and organised plan and everything happens very quickly. Other motorists may not be aware of what is happening as you stopped the car yourself.

Pls alert others to this danger!
