Duterte urges Pacquiao to pursue presidency "He will become president"

President Rodrigo Duterte referred to Senator Manny Pacquiao as a "president-to-be"during the Pinoy boxing pride's 38th birthday celebration in General Santos City.
According to President Duterte, Pacquiao would become president someday and even gave the neophyte senator some advice once he occupies the post.
Duterte said in a freewheeling speech in Pacquiao's party:
“I asked permission from President-to-be Manny Pacquiao. Ako, nagbitaw na ako ng salita, oo, klaro na ’yan."
“Look. Ito ha. Man, magpulitiko ka. Man, magiging presidente ka rin, tingin ko eh, totoo. Sundan mo lang ang linya mo at ganun lang ang ugali mo — ‘yang style mo, stay humble. Mababa lang.”
Pacquiao's wife Jinkee posted a photo of their family on her Instagram account together with the president onstage. She wrote in the caption:
In a video posted by sports reporter Dyan Castillejo, Manny's mother Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao was seen having a small chat with President Duterte while they were preparing for a photo op.
Dyan wrote:
"President Duterte stayed the entire celebration of Manny birthday tonight praise and worship , preaching by Pastor Peter Tanchi , Hillsong United Worship , singing comp and Raffle. . When he was mayor of Davao he also attended several birthdays of Pacquiao in Gensan . Sen Manny :'Matagal na kami mag Kaibigan at honored ako na ngayon president na siya.nandito pa rin'"

Pacquiao has previously expressed his support to President Duterte and his war on drugs. He also supports the president's advocacy despite receiving criticisms about him, being a political turncoat. The senator earlier announced that running for presidency is not yet in his mind yet he is not closing his doors to the possibilities. [source]
