BREAKING: Virginia State Senator Richard Black: US should respect President Duterte and Filipino culture

The Republican member of the Virginia State Senate Richard Hayden "Dick" Black speaks about the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte during his interview with EIR Asia expert Mike Billington.

According to Black, in order to rule the Philippines, the Filipinos need a firm hand to govern it. That's why the people chose President Duterte because of his capability to lead the country.

Black said that the Americans should not intervene and respect the Filipino culture because Filipinos know more of what their own country needs.

"I think it is wise for the Americans to recognize it's differences in culture," Black said.

"Filipinos who elected this government has a better feel for their country than we do sipping our cocktail glasses back in the United States," Black added.

Black said the Philippines is an important ally of US and they should give consideration how vital the Philippines is.

He also said that the US should start catching up if the US wants to maintan the good relationship with the Philippines.

"The people of the Philippines elected Rodrigo Duterte since they wanted law and order, and he gave it to them. They have chosen a very strong ruler," Balck said.

Black said that US is to blame as the government should have dealt with PH in a more sensitive fashion.

"It would be a shame to lose our alliance with the Philippines," Black said.
